With this third exhibition, Augusta continues to explore solutions for introducing more sustainable production processes in the world of design. At the heart of this spring exhibition are earth, wood, linen and wool. Materials that have been used for thousands of years are sublimated, combined or diverted from their usual uses to reveal their potential.

Augusta presents Chromatic array by Frédérique Hoet-Segers (1929-2022). For more than sixty years, this belgian architect and artist created using scraps of leather that she transformed and assembled by using a technique she developed. Combining strips of leather allowed her to create abstract, geometric compositions made up of lines, curves and dotted lines. Augusta is exhibiting and selling a selection of wall pieces, objects and jewellery.

states of matter

September 15 - October 14, 2023
Thu-Sat, 14-18h

States of matter focuses on materials and textures : the density of wool meeting the hypnotic appearance of salt, the robustness of brass and stone combined contrasting with the transparency of linen. Each of the designers presented focuses on one or two materials, their specific features, their imperfections and their reaction to fire or water to create unique works.

The common thread is an approach to design based on the transformation of these materials: natural materials, offcuts and damaged products are cut up, combined or melted to create new materials. All potential solutions for introducing more sustainable and environmentally-friendly production processes in the world of design.
