Created through the ongoing collaboration between basketry designer Esmé Hofman and designer Amandine David, Tethys, Harvest 01 pairs traditional weaving with red stone in a long, flowing form. Its name evokes the ancient Tethys Ocean, whose vanished seabeds gave rise to red limestones such as Verona stone, as well as Tethys, the Greek sea goddess associated with marine fertility. The piece brings together memories of deep time and the enduring, life-giving force of the sea.
