A handcrafted floor lamp that turns raw materials into light.

Glow is an architectural floor lamp designed to bring ambient lighting to any space. Carved with a striking fissure, it opens to reveal an illuminated core, casting a radiant beam of light from within. The cylindrical form features carefully placed inserts that allow light to graze across the layered textures of its surface, highlighting the natural strata and creating a unique interplay of light and shadow.

Designed by Sarah El Yousefy and Nina Ouchinsky of Cru Atelier, the lamp reimagines how light interacts with geological and organic materials.

These pieces are made in Brussels by Atelier Cru.

  • Cru Atelier specializes in working with geological and organic materials, transforming them into furniture and installations. For Glow, they collaborate with excavated earth, hemp, lime, and cork to create pieces that are both sustainable and tactile.

    Rammed Earth

    Cru Atelier’s rammed earth is made from excavated soil sourced from Belgian construction sites. The earth is mixed with lime and compacted by hand in layers, resulting in a surface that reveals subtle variations in color and texture.

    Available for Glow mini only.

    Hempcrete

    A bio-composite of hemp fibers and lime, hempcrete is lightweight yet durable. Its porous structure creates a warm, breathable feel while regulating indoor humidity.

    Available for Glow tall.

    Corksum

    Developed by Cru Atelier, Corksum blends natural and reclaimed materials to create an ultra-lightweight yet robust surface with natural insulating properties.

    Available for Glow tall.

  • Each Glow lamp is part of a strictly limited edition because its creation relies on the careful coordination of, natural materials. The earth and hemp used in the process are sourced from larger-scale construction projects, requiring substantial advance orders to ensure consistency and quality. Since these materials vary with each batch, the final pieces naturally differ in subtle ways—no two lamps are identical.

    Produced entirely by hand in Brussels, the edition is intentionally small to maintain the integrity of Cru Atelier’s craftsmanship and to honor the time-intensive nature of working with raw, unprocessed materials. This ensures that every lamp remains a unique object, tied to a specific moment in the atelier’s production cycle.

    Care: Wipe with a dry cloth; avoid direct sunlight
