Augusta Gallery is a pioneering sustainable design gallery co-founded in 2023, championing designers who work with reclaimed, bio-based, or geo-based (aka natural) materials. From stone furniture to innovative bio-composites, we curate exhibitions that push the boundaries of sustainable design. Due to our growth, we’re seeking a passionate and dynamic Independent Sustainable Design Ambassador & Sales Associate to join our team on a commission-based structure.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive student to help raise Augusta’s profile and strengthen its cultural presence. This internship is the opportunity to work on a specific project: to develop a modern, event-based communications strategy, whilst actively participating in the life of the gallery. Your work will be divided between communications tasks for Augusta Gallery and a specific contribution to the communications work of Ariane van Dievoet, the gallery’s co-founder and a designer represented by the gallery.
Objectives :
Forging links between Augusta and its audience (individuals, institutions, the media).
Raising the profile of the gallery and the designers it represents.
Organising events to establish Augusta firmly within Brussels’ cultural landscape.
Ensuring a warm welcome for visitors and clients, whilst embodying the gallery’s values.
Main missions :
Communication: Showcasing creations via social media, the website, the newsletter and printed materials.
Exhibiting and selling unique pieces in collaboration with craftspeople and designers.
Organising events (exhibition openings, workshops, talks) to raise public awareness of sustainable design.

As part of our team, you will contribute to:
Overall communications strategy (Augusta and Ariane VD):
Helping to define and implement a consistent editorial approach (social media, newsletters, website).
Writing engaging posts (Instagram, LinkedIn) and blog articles.
Creating Reels and Stories showcasing the pieces and designers.
Producing dedicated content (interviews, visuals, themed posts).
Managing social media (Augusta and Ariane VD)
Content planning and community engagement.
Performance analysis (insights) and strategic adjustments.
Organising events (Augusta)
Logistics for exhibition openings, workshops and conferences (reception, communications, coordination).
Creating visual and printed materials (posters, invitations).
Reception and Customer Relations (Augusta)
Duties in the gallery: Welcoming visitors, showcasing pieces, and answering questions about materials and designers.
Meeting with customers: Understanding their expectations and guiding them towards suitable pieces.
Attending meetings with designers to discuss ongoing projects.
Uploading products, updating the website (Augusta and Ariane VD)
Drafting product sheets (descriptions, stories about the materials).
Working with the team to update the website and sales platforms.
Creating written content (Augusta and Ariane VD)
Drafting newsletters, press kits and articles on sustainable design trends.
These roles will enable you to develop a wide range of skills in communication, event management and customer relations, whilst actively contributing to Augusta’s growth and raising the profile of Ariane van Dievoet’s designs.

Compensation: this is an unpaid internship for school credits.
Duration: 3 or 4 months, ideally 3 or 4 days a week, any time of the year.

Technical skills:
Digital communication:
Proficiency in Instagram (creating Reels, Stories and written posts).
Writing content for the website and newsletters.
Keeping abreast of trends in sustainable design and social media.
Event planning:
Assisting with the organisation of exhibition openings, workshops and conferences.
Logistics management (invitations, communications, welcoming the public).
Content creation:
Basic video editing (CapCut, Canva, etc.).
Photo editing (Photoshop).
Graphic design (InDesign).
Taking photographs and writing compelling captions.
Languages: Fluent in French and English (written and spoken), Dutch is a plus.
Interpersonal skills:
Independence and creativity to come up with original ideas.
Good organisational skills and a meticulous approach to managing several projects simultaneously.
An interest in design, craftsmanship and environmental issues.
Team spirit: Ability to fit into a small, dynamic team.
